Meet Dr. Raihan Nazir, fondly known as “Dr. Ray” among his patients, who is deeply dedicated to providing top-notch dental care.
For him, exceptional dental care encompasses delivering personalized and compassionate service in a welcoming, warm, and enjoyable environment. Dr. Ray is committed to offering the highest quality care, incorporating the latest advancements in dentistry, and drawing upon his extensive training in general dentistry and oral surgery.
Dr. Nazir, one of California’s most highly trained dentists, hails from a family of six dentists who inspired him to carry on the family tradition. After graduating from dental school in 1988, he pursued a three-year master’s program at the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute in London. To practice in the United States, he dedicated an additional 2 1/2 years to training and licensure. Dr. Nazir’s commitment to staying at the forefront of dental advancements is evident as he continually updates his knowledge, surpassing state board requirements. He holds memberships in prominent dental associations like OCDS, CDA, ADA, ICOI, IAOMT and HDA to name a few.

He initially discovered his zeal for dentistry while shadowing his aunt (who is a dentist) while he was still a junior in high school. Shortly thereafter, he came to observe Dr. Nazir here at Smile Magic. In between breaks from his professional training over the course of the next 10 years, Dr. Oz would intermittently intern & assist in the operations of Smile Magic— thus giving him a comprehensive view of the excellence embodied by the office and its team. Knowing the superior standard that Dr. Nazir established for the boutique practice, Dr. Oz set out on a pursuit of professional excellence which led him on an arduous educational journey traversing the nation.
After graduating high school in St. Louis, MO, he gained acceptance into the fiercely competitive accelerated pre-dental program at the University of the Pacific. After obtaining his Bachelors of Science in just 3 years, he successfully applied out of the program and ultimately earned his doctorate from the prestigious Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. Dr. Oz further augmented and honed his skills during his tenure as a General Practice Resident at Chicago’s highly coveted Jesse Brown Veterans Affairs Hospital. There he received extensive training in restorative and surgical dentistry, far beyond the basic training garnered in dental school. In his ongoing attempt of pursuing excellence, Dr. Oz has amassed 350+ hours of continuing education credits in the span of 2 years, vastly surpassing the minimum requirement of 50 hours to maintain his license. After a highly extensive and scrutinizing search, Dr. Oz was ultimately selected to join the Smile Magic team. He is proudly serving his patients with the utmost respect and care, and has become a core member of the practice.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Oz co-founded an application review service which helps aspiring students of all levels with their college/grad school/professional applications. He also loves to participate in athletics and to read from the comfort of his heating pad.
